Japanese Red Cross announced today an extension of the donation period to benefit those affected by disasters, including the victims of the Fukushima nuclear accident.

The Japanese Red Cross has received JPY 324.3 billion by today, and all the money for this programme with the money raised by the other donation-collecting body (Community Chest of Japan) will be transferred to the Grant Disbursement Committees in 15 affected prefectures, and then distributed to affected individuals.

(The Japanese Red Cross takes no administrative fees from the funds.)

Donation period: March 14, 2011 through March 31, 2014
