JRCS Membership Drive CM & Poster 'Mankind is now being tested'
Even if met with an overwhelming obstacle, mankind has the strength to meet that challenge.
Human beings are never alone.
We believe that human beings can be strong when we join hands.
Millions of refugees who are forced to abandon their hometown, towns and victims which are destroyed by armed conflict, and people who are faced with natural disaster and poverty; countless people have lost their hope for tomorrow and are suffering right now in the world. We cannot ignore this fact and we consider what we can do. This is the message of the TV CM & posters of the Red Cross Membership Drive month this year.
The TV CM focus starts with Japanese landscape and covers overseas countries thousands to more than ten thousand km away. By comparing the lives of those in areas of armed conflict and disasters with our own daily lives, the TV CM is a quiet appeal depicting our way of life and how the Red Cross is tested.
The TV CM will be broadcast by TV stations and special sites around Japan during the Movement month. Posters will be put up on local community bulletin boards. Through this public information people will come to think of these armed conflicts and disasters as "their own problems," and not "someone else's problems." It is hoped that this will spark interest in the activities of the Red Cross, the world's largest humanitarian aid organization.
The photo of the poster is the one of Nepal where a magnitude 7.8 earthquake occurred in April 2015.
The TV CM can be seen on the website of the Japanese Red Cross (http://jrc-undougekkan.jp)
