Assistance received from all over the world
The JRCS has received overseas donations of JPY 122.7 billion in total. Around JPY 60.14 billion was channeled through the Partner National Societies (PNSs) of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement around the world in 100 countries and regions, while JPY 40.06 billion was received from the State of Kuwait in the form of crude oil donation. In addition, JPY 22.5 billion have been given directly to the JRCS from foreign governments, embassies, corporates and indivisuals as “Cash Grants” .
The JRCS implemented the relief and recovery programmes utilizing donations from overseas mainly from the PNSs around the world, and assisted the local governments to implement recovery projects for the affected people utilizing capital funds of the amount equivalent to the crude oil provided by the State of Kuwait. Furthermore, it has delivered the full amount of the collected Cash Grants to each affected prefecture which distributed as cash to the affected population.
